Notice of Investment in Instalimb
Keio Innovation Initiative (KII) has invested in Instalimb, a company developing low-cost 3D printed prosthetics using 3D-CAD, 3D printing, and machine learning (AI) technologies, from a fund managed by KII.
Instalimb has developed its own custom mass production solution*4 for prosthetic devices, including a 3D printer dedicated to prosthetic device production and 3D modeling software with a shape recommendation function based on a proprietary algorithm. This enables cost reductions and shortened delivery times that are approximately one-tenth those of conventional solutions, making it possible to provide prosthetic limbs to a large number of users, including those in emerging and developing countries.
