LINEA Innovations, Inc. is developing an innovative fusion reactor that combines the FRC (Field-Reversed Configuration) method and the Tandem Mirror method, utilizing research achievements from Nihon University and Tsukuba University. This fusion technology, in which Japan has played a leading role, enables the use of p-11B fuel without handling radioactive materials, offering higher safety compared to conventional fusion, achieving high energy efficiency through direct power generation, and promising diverse applications through miniaturization. With commercialization, this technology is expected to create an energy source that produces zero CO2 emissions, ensures high safety, provides stable operation, and generates almost no radioactive waste, contributing to Japan's energy self-sufficiency and carbon neutrality goals.
